The Caribou Performing Arts Center provides students and adults with an opportunity to explore and enjoy the performing arts in a wonderful state of the art theater setting.  Located at Caribou High School, the theater has an audience capacity of 826 and is used as both a teaching facility and a community venue for performing artists. The fully air-conditioned space includes a recently updated sound system and has special plug–ins for the hearing impaired.

Many outside artists and entertainment groups provide both school assembly programs as well as evening performances for the adult population in the area.

Individuals or organizations that wish to use the Performing Arts Center should contact Caribou High School at (207) 493-4260 or e-mail schedule@CaribouPAC.org.

Inspirational Performer

returning to Caribou

Text Box: “Tony . . . continue to give hope to all the people.”

  - Pope
John Paul II

Tony Melendez

Tony, a thalidomide baby who was born without arms, learned how to play guitar with his feet.  He first gained notoriety performing for Pope John Paul II in Los Angeles in 1987.

The Pope hailed Tony as a "courageous young man," and told him, "my wish to you is to continue giving this hope to all the people."

Since that day, Tony has toured the world spreading his inspirational story and sharing his musical talents, including performances in Aroostook County 20 years ago, in 1992.
